Goods and services tax are categorized into different slabs of tax: 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% but some of the products such as petroleum products, alcoholic drinks, and electricity are not taxed under GST, it is separately taxed by individual state government based on the previous tax system.
There is a special slab rate of 0.25% assigned to rough precious and semi-precious stones and 3% slab rate for gold.

Diamonds, non-industrial unworked or simply sawn, cleaved or bruted
Precious stones (other than diamonds) and semi-precious stones, unworked or simply sawn or roughly shaped
Synthetic or reconstructed precious or semi-precious stones, unworked or simply sawn or roughly shaped

List of items included under 3% of GST mostly are precious stone, gold, metals, imitation jewellery, coin and others.
List Of Goods At 5% Rate
